MY TEACHING PHILOSOPHY
First of all, it is important to say that teaching
is a process in which it is necessary to involve different factors and actors
within the process, such as the learners, the teacher, the materials or
resources and, the most important thing, from my view: motivation. I think this
is the key of the process.
The above is what determines me as a
teacher. Those are the principles under which I develop my day by day, for this
reason I can affirm that they make part of my philosophy, they configure my teaching
style. Of course those factors must be
linked with the context and it is my labor, as a teacher, to makes them to take
sense for the learners.
However, there is another side of the coin,
in which I find something very interesting and mandatory for me, before, during
and after lessons: flexibility. This is
a fact that must be always taken into account when teaching. If you follow a lesson plan like a straitjacket,
for instance, what would you do if, by any chance, things are not going just
like you had them in mind? In these
cases, and always, flexibility will help you to manage in the best ways such sudden
situations. Well, this is the way I
characterize and describe my teaching philosophy.
